The Center for Sleep Medicine seeks an IL licensed/license-eligible clinical or health psychologist with adult or pediatric clinical background to join its established Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM) program. The BSM services are fully integrated in this multi-specialty/multi-disciplinary sleep medicine practice, which includes three psychologists providing BSM services at several locations. The staff position is clinical in emphasis, full time and salaried with benefits. Successful candidates should be willing to provide services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and medical populations. Service provision is required at western suburban practice sites in the greater Chicago area. Treatment services are typically short term, cognitive behavioral in nature and focus specifically on the treatment of sleep disorders, including insomnia, night eating, shift work sleep disorders, pediatric sleep disorders, and behavioral issues affecting treatment compliance for sleep apnea, narcolepsy and other sleep disorders. Experience in sleep medicine would be ideal, but training and supervision can be provided for a clinician otherwise trained in cognitive behavioral treatment approaches. In this private medical practice setting, organization, clear communication with patients, referring physicians and staff, collaboration in expanding the practice, and a patient/consumer focus are also important applicant characteristics.
